Youngest ever World #1 in Chess

Magnus Carlsen of Norway becomes the youngest world number one player in the history of FIDE according to the January 2010 ratings. At the age of 19 and with 2810 FIDE ratings he is only the fifth player after Garry Kasparov, Veselin Topalov, Vladimir Kramnik and Viswanathan Anand to score more than 2800 points. Also at age 13, he became the third youngest Grandmaster in the history of the game.
